The role

The HRIS Technical Support Consultant is a point of contact for Sage People related incidents and service requests for Managed Services clients. This role is responsible for resolving support requests ensuring that service levels and targets are achieved, as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands.

This is a permanent role.

Reporting

This role reports directly to the Head of Managed Services.

Key Responsibilities

The specific job responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming Sage People and other supported product queries and issues, and respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, or email
  • Serve as tier 1 and 2 support for Managed Services clients and act as “internal support” for the Managed Services team
  • Work with the wider Managed Services team to ensure customer queries are addressed in a timely manner
  • Coach and empower users in the use of Sage People and other support products
  • Assist in building solutions to meet client needs
  • Escalate cases to the Head of Managed Services or Sage People if required
  • Independently take on short order queue (SOQ) work when required and Project Manage smaller pieces of configuration
  • Support HRIS Consultants with projects at critical times
  • Act in a confidential manner towards Tugela People and client data
  • Work proactively with the Tugela People team to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage internal projects as directed
  • Work with Marketing to promote Sage People Managed Services
  • Act as cover for the Head of Managed Services when required

 

Desired Skills and Experience  

Who we are looking for:

An individual with a proven track record and demonstrable experience in HRIS support. The role would suit a highly productive, positive and energetic individual: an unflappable problem solver who is patient, flexible, naturally organised and an instinctively excellent communicator. Good personal skills are essential with grit to not shy away from learning new skills and a demanding customer base.

The individual must have:

  • 3+ years HR software implementation experience
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to serve as an intermediary between technical developers and end users
  • Ability to create a positive and professional business relationship with internal and external clients
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities using time management skills
  • Knowledge of the full software development life cycle
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • A 'can do' attitude able to hit the ground running
  • A natural curiosity and keen on developing new skills and relationships for themselves and others
  • The confidence to speak up with great ideas, embrace change and seek innovative new ways of doing things
  • Experience with MS Office Suite

The additional would all be a “nice to have”, but not necessary:

  • Experience of working in a HR environment
  • Knowledge of implementing or supporting customers with Sage People or Salesforce
