Position Summary

This senior SAP (Managing Consultant) role within our UK Professional Services team, involves aspects from Consulting and Project Management, so it is essential that you are comfortable with flexible work assignments based on business needs. This UK role is home based and customer facing, so an openness to travel (subject to business needs and local safety restrictions) is required.

Within the SAP Senior HXM Consultant aspect of your role:

  • You will be responsible for your overall module(s) implementation and lead key customer workshops.
  • You will be responsible for functional design, configuration and integration functional support with other modules or systems.
  • You will be able to coach other team members and support necessary business development efforts (pre-sales, proposal writing etc.).
  • You will provide strong sales support where possible for maximised consulting revenue growth.
  • You will have an effective delivery attitude to ensure a profitable project delivery.

Within the SAP Project Manager aspect of your role:

  • You will be responsible for the overall management of both small & medium sized projects.
  • You will provide leadership to the project team responsible for delivering defined project outputs to time, budget, and project quality criteria.
  • You will also be responsible for Project Governance & Methodology processes and tools within the company (to support strong governance on projects).
  • You will be called on to assist in pre-sales by providing input into the proposal especially in the area of delivery model, project structure, organisation, scoping, estimation and risk as well as assisting in pre-sales presentations.


  • Managing client relationship, ensuring that sponsors and all stakeholders (internal and external) at agreed intervals are kept informed on progress and on any matters which they may need to make decisions
  • Ability to identify potential issues, raising these to the appropriate channels (Senior Project Manager, Senior Manager, Project Coordinator) and providing possible solutions and approaches
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple parties (such as partners, programme work streams and other involved vendors) as one team
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills, including ability to communicate complex concepts to an audience
  • Commercially aware of client arrangements and ensures that work is delivered within these constraints

Education & Experience

This role requires a bachelor university degree in a relevant field of study and over 8 years of SAP experience. The role requires good SAP HXM product knowledge, ability to act independently in many complex situations, guide others in the field and improve and influence work processes for the competence area.


Within the SAP Senior HXM Consultant aspect:

  • Five or more projects with direct hands-on experience in full lifecycles, with expertise in more than one module across SAP HCM / HXM (On-premise and Cloud)
    • Ideally the candidate will have consulting experience in both SAP ERP (ECC or S4HANA) and SAP SuccessFactors projects, but experience in one, with certification in the other is also accepted
  • Relevant SAP certification (such as HCM, Payroll, SuccessFactors Module)


Within the SAP Project Manager aspect:

  • One or more project with management experience in full projects, change orders, workstream or phase (testing, cutover, etc.)
  • Relevant project management certification (such as SAP Activate, PMP, APMP (Agile) PRINCE2)
